Music for Eclipse Phase

I was creating play-lists for various live-in-person table top games and came across a song that made me think of Eclipse Phase specifically an unsheathed reinstated ego with the song Lament for Lost Dreams by mind.in.a.box off of the album "Dreamweb." Several songs off of that album work well for EP and I'm wondering if anyone else has run across any particularly good music for EP or Transhuman games in general.

I woke up one day,
and didn't know whence I came.
I looked back one day,
and nothing spoke my name.

I saw myself from afar,
and could not comprehend.
I felt a throbbing scar,
and knew it would never mend.

I beheld the path behind me,
and the weeds were growing tall.
I looked where my footsteps should be,
but there was nothing there at all.

Mind in a Box is really good, I would add Grendel (Several cyberpunk/transhumanism references) and NIN (The day the whole world went away).

I believe anything industrial, say like the band "Tyrant of Death" (albums like Deep Space, Bloodlust, and Parasite), or perhaps something from the Ghost In the Shell OST's on the market (which I think there are 2-4 of them). I've experienced a lot of good feedback from my players with the Dead Space official soundtrack, as well. Really, anything industrial, atmospherically haunting, etc., would do perfectly. Lack of lyrics helps add to the betterment of the 'mood' you're wanting to go for.

Re: Music for Eclipse Phase

I've found most music to be too much of a distraction at the table. Too many audiophiles with bad habits of trailing off in the middle of sentences to listen to music... also one drummer. It's worse than dice rolling I tell you. Wink

Where I have used it in the past though I tend to stick with ambient noises that match - recordings of thunderstorms, or factory noise. I'm going to take any suggestions here as great writing music though. Smile

If I can get a game session put together to go with Orbital's The Box...

Yes Mind in a Box are wonderful. Bjork, Nine Inch Nails too.

BWO ("BVO" aka Bodies Without Organs. Alot of their songs deal with this stuff but maybe not as many as mind in a box - who are also fascinatingly great).

The music video alone is near EP. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAGa0vTgGDw

Living in a Fantasy (from album Prototype)

Fantasy fantasy fantasy
Never say never again

Can you hear the engines burning,
Tossing and turning,
Ready to travel beyond.
I'm knocking on a frosty icing,
Scorpio rising,
Shaping the future to come.

Never shed a tear to cry, time goes by,
Playing a game with your mind.
Fall into a deep organic sleeping titanic,
Frozen to wake up in time.

Living in a fantasy
High and beyond our fantasy
Rocking inside a fantasy
Dreams are forever
Never say never again

You will have to change your notion,
Bodies in motion,
Joining the transhuman race.
We should be the first transforming.
Sweet global warming.
Marvel at the beauty of space.

Never shed a tear to cry time goes by
Playing a game with your mind
Fall into a deep organic sleeping titanic
Frozen to wake up in time

Living in a fantasy
High and beyond our fantasy
Rocking inside a fantasy
Dreams are forever
Never say never again

Dreams are forever
Never say never again

Clint Mansell's soundtrack for the film Moon, and anything by Burial. Ominous, chill, instrumental and menacing.

The original Deus Ex soundtrack is great too, thanks for reminding me.

Also, the Emerging Organisms compilations (Vol. 1-3) or anything by Millipede.
