root@Reputation module
I see we have a reputation module now, which is double-plus good,, but how does it work?

That's neat, I'll have to look those up. Can you tell me how we should be making use of it? I like the idea of a reputation economy, but I'm not entirely certain what it is supposed to viewed as or used for. Any ideas?
From a real world perspective? I don't see this becoming anything meaningful or innately valuable.
From the perspective of this one little web site - it's a way for me to tell which editors are on the job and which aren't, and which users are regularly contributing to the wiki and which aren't. It could also evolve into some form of competition or means of granting granting gravity to someone's post for our community, but that's entirely at the discretion of the individual.

It's the Userpoints module straight out of Drupal.org - I've set it to give rep for wiki posts and wiki edits (1 point each). It's also set to give rep for voting on articles to approve or disapprove them in the editors queue. Rep expires after four weeks, so long periods of inactivity are reflected in a die off of points. The modules used are: Userpoints and the Rules module.
I may configure a few more features as I get more familiar with how it works and see how it and the community interact. Darkcast acts as a testing ground for a lot of the more esoteric features that would go on eclipsephase.com so there's bound to be some experimentation here. The settings may change to reflect lessons learned on the site.
